Pan-European Architecture for Cooperative Systems
Based on the relevant scenarios and the resulting applications the European COMeSafety communication architecture is transferred into a working prototype that makes use of existing systems and components wherever possible. This is done to guarantee easy implementation and quick market introduction. This prototype will be verified and evaluated so that a working system is available at the end of PRE-DRIVE C2X. It will be the basis for all further European activities in the field of cooperative systems.
Specific challenges are:
- Field Trials: test equipment and a management centre for testing and evaluation. Selected Use Cases generate additional requirements and adaptation of the PRE-DRIVE C2X system.
- Security: in PRE-DRIVE C2X, the COMeSafety architecture will be extended by additional security components.
- Backend Services: will have a potential impact on the system architecture. They are considered in the PRE-DRIVE C2X system architecture.
Since the life cycle of road vehicles is considerably longer than that of electric and electronic components particular care will be taken to ensure technological persistence. The operability over a long period of time that extends at least until 2025 has to be considered. This makes it necessary to monitor all relevant upcoming trends in the field of vehicular communication and to anticipate potential emerging technologies. It also requires active participation to relevant standardisation activities.
