PRE-DRIVE C2X is coordinated by Daimler AG. The consortium consists of the leading European players, who possess a comprehensive knowledge in the field, and have a long lasting experience in EU funded projects. In PRE-DRIVE C2X the main role of the automotive OEMs, Daimler, Audi, BMW, CRF, Opel, Volvo Technology and Volkswagen is to bring in their requirements, to support the partners from electronics industry and software development during specification and prototype realisation and, of course, to install the prototype systems into their test vehicles and conduct the impact assessment. System specification and realisation is in the hands of Delphi, Hitachi, Renesas and NEC. They are accompanied by the software provider SAP and the research institutes DLR, Fraunhofer FOKUS and INRETS. The development of suitable means for system validation and impact assessment is a key task of the partners Daimler, DLR, INRETS, ptv, TNO, Technische Universität Graz, Universität Karlsruhe and University of Surrey. They develop the integrated simulation model for cooperative systems that brings together the simulation of communication technology with traffic simulation and simulation of vehicle driving. It allows a holistic view on the impact of vehicular communication. This assessment on the basis of the simulation is accompanied by tests with the actual system. With the guidance of Fraunhofer FOKUS, the consortium is jointly developing the necessary tools and methodologies for test and verification of the demonstrator and evaluation of the system in a field operational trial. They are be joined by facit, who conducts friendly user trials together with the other partners and develops strategies for market implementation on the basis of the evaluation of results and on cost benefit analysis. |
